Tuesday, 18 March 2014 12:38 GMT

The one-make entry level series of WSBK ready for action.

Riders from 13 countries will take to the track at the Alcarras circuit soon as the 2014 PATA European Junior Cup, powered by Honda, kicks off the season with the annual  test camp. Over the two days the young riders will have the chance  to become accustomed to their Honda CBR 500 R race bikes, which provided such great racing in 2013. This year’s CBR 500R promises even better performance, with a lower race weight and the addition of a HM Quickshifter.  The EJC racers will receive expert guidance from the series coaches on machine set-up, riding techniques, mental and physical preparation as well as an introduction to the procedures of racing at the eni FIM World Superbike Championship.

Joining the test will also be several riders who have graduated from the EJC to the Superstock classes. They have been invited to take part with their new teams and team mates as part of the European Junior Cup’s programme to further assist young riders in their Superbike careers.

Applications are still being taken for the 2014 PATA European Junior Cup, both for permanent entries and for single race ‘Wild Cards’. Entries are open to racers from all motorcycle sports and with a grand prize of a fully supported season in Superstock 600 plus the opportunity to test with the Pata Honda World Supersport  squad, the EJC offers a fantastic entry level into the World Superbike Championship.
